Excellent work, but overpriced
I’ve had a maintenance plan with Gem for several years. I recently purchased an older home and updated my heating system, central air and water heater through Gem. All their technicians are always friendly and very helpful with their advice. Whenever I have needed service, they come by the next day. They clean up before they leave and always do a great job!
The employees were awesome to answer all our questions. The only thing was there is pre-fee before seeing the work and then the amount is given before work is done. But that is a company policy. They are pricey, but worth it with total customer service and good work. Walter and his assistant were wonderful, honest, got job done thoroughly and I would recommend them to anyone needing work done on plumbing.

Called at 12am for an emergency electrical repair. The crew arrived within 2 hours. Needed a replacement breaker panel and was replaced by 1pm the same day.
Nick was great. Professional, very polite, asked me several questions times if I had questions. He came on a Saturday night when the only other plumber who would was the famous national chain. That plumber didn’t know what he was doing and left without accomplishing anything. nick knew exactly what was wrong and finished the job quickly without needing to test out a wall, like the other guy said would need to happen.

The bill was incredibly expensive, above and beyond the service fee for coming. I was shocked, but it’s what I get for requesting a Saturday night service. The only other thing I would say is that with the trips in and out and the guck he was dealing with, I wish he had disposable booties to put on his feet. He tracked nasty guck on his shoes everywhere, including the carpeted stairs.
There was a drain backup issue in my building. Devin from GEM Was called in about the water in my unit. The team arrived on time were professional got right to work. The larger issue, however, was with pipes that building management has to deal with. The whole team was good. The folks at the office I spoke to setting up the appointment. Everybody showed up on time. I would recommend them to others. And I’ll use them again if I am in need.
