Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to know which rebate program I qualify for before I call GEM?

No. When you schedule an estimate, your Comfort Advisor will help identify which programs may apply based on your equipment, utility, and home address. The landing page is here to give you a high-level overview of how HVAC rebates work and help you submit paperwork after install.

Can GEM apply for the rebate on my behalf?

In most cases, the homeowner must submit the rebate application, but we provide the paperwork you need: detailed invoices, equipment information, and any contractor forms required by the program. This page will link you directly to the correct websites for MA, RI, and CT.

How long does it take to receive my rebate?

Processing times vary by program and season. Many list their current expected timelines on their websites. After you submit your application, keep your confirmation email and check the program website for updates.

What if I can’t find my model or serial number?

Check your GEM invoice and the paperwork left by your installer. If you’re still not sure, call us and we can help you locate the information or provide a copy of your invoice.

I still have questions. Who should I call?

You can always call GEM. We can help you understand your paperwork and point you to the correct rebate resource for your state and utility.
