What is Hydro Jetting?
For serious clogs in your sewer or drainage systems, Gem Plumbing uses High-Pressure Hydro Jetting to clear the line. These water lines can be long runs of 100 feet or more, underground, and inaccessible for snaking. Hydro Jetting blasts water at 4000 PSI through the pipe and easily removes large obstructions and years of sediment buildup in your drains. Hydro Jetting will clear any roots infiltrating your pipes to avoid costly damages. Afterwards, we check the pipe with a camera to ensure all debris has been cleared.
Hydro Jetting is a cutting edge drain cleaning service and the most effective method for drain cleaning available in the plumbing industry. This is the solution you need for tough clogs and dirty drains. The jetting technology uses water pressure and volume to clear our clogs and debris from household pipes. Compared to conventional snaking methods, Hydro Jetting is far more powerful and gives the best results. It also helps ensure that debris such as hair, soap residue, oil buildup, mineral deposits and more are permanently removed from your pipes.
How does Hydro Jetting work?
Our Hydro Jet machine is made up of a large water tank, high-pressure hose and strength nozzle, and a machine that pressurizes and controls the flow of water. We place the nozzle at the “cleanout,” the part of your plumbing system that allows for the removal of debris. The nozzle creates enough pressure to pull itself through your pipe while cleaning the drain, clearing a path for debris to flow down into the sewer.
Why is Hydro Jetting superior?
Conventional Cable Snake Machines are great short term solutions to remove a clog, but they don’t fully clear out the inside of your pipes the way Hydro Jetting does. By essentially scrubbing the inside of your pipes, Hydro Jetting helps eliminate future problems. Snakes push through the path of least resistance to open up small holes, but they can quickly result in another clogged drain as the soft deposits left collect more debris. Hydro Jetting fully clears your pipe of problems, no matter what’s clogging it, and removes soft deposits so that your drain stays clean for longer.
The best way to prevent clogs in your drains is by keeping your drains well maintained in the first place. Hydro Jetting is a great way to maintain clean drains and keep your piping flowing like new. Because some buildup is inevitable as you use your plumbing system, we recommend performing regular preventative maintenance.
Tree Root Solutions
As pipes age and trees grow, tree roots will often creep into pipes in search of moisture and nutrients. Gem’s plumbers have seen how far tree roots can travel up pipes and how easily they slip in through the tiniest cracks and joints to infiltrate your system. Once a tree root discovers water, the tree will often step up root growth in that area to take advantage of the moisture. As the roots grow, they increase the size of the hole can can cause a major clog or even a burst pipe. It’s incredibly important to take care of tree roots right away, before they ruin your pipes.
Tree Root Solutions

- Hydro Jetting: For a long-term solution, your technician can clean the pipe using high pressure water jets. The Hydro Jetting machine will thoroughly scour the line to eliminate grease buildup, debris and tree roots.
