The ribbon-cutting ceremony was a special event for the GEM team and in attendance were GEM Home Services President Larry Gemma, GEM Mechanical President Lenny Gemma, and GEM Mechanical Vice President Eddy Gemma, Walpole Selectman David Salvatore, Esq. and many GEM employees as well as town residents and business people.
GEM Plumbing & Heating, founded 70 years ago in nearby Rhode Island, expects to grow its fleet at the Walpole location to as many as 20 service techs and trucks within the coming year. This expansion will help GEM to better serve customers in the Massachusetts area. GEM provides plumbing, heating, cooling, electric and drain for Home and Commercial Services, as well as innovative Home Advocate plans for homeowners.
This expansion will create new, high paying technical jobs for the community. They will utilize the newest home service field technologies to help customers save money through efficient diagnostics and repairs. Greg Cosgro, Commercial Account Manager, explains, “Our goal is to help educate the younger generation about the construction and technical industry career opportunities that are available.”
Selectman Salvatore commented, “I want to thank GEM for choosing Walpole, which has a long tradition of providing tradespeople to the Boston Metro area. With the Tri County Vocational Technical High School in the area, we will be able to provide HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical technicians for years to come.”
GEM is excited to be a part of Walpole and is looking forward to working with the community.
